This wooden puzzle music box is themed around the Ruins of St. Paul's, one of Macao's iconic landmarks. The structure shown is the facade of the St. Paul's Cathedral (also known as Church of the 'Mother of God'), located at the bottom of Mount Fortress. The Ruins of St. Paul's combine the essence of Eastern and Western architectural aesthetic, creating an artistic masterpiece that embodies the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, often referred to as a 'three-dimensional Bible'. The piece also features the Nezha Temple, one of two existing Nezha temples in Macao, located at 6 Rua da São Paulo, next to the Ruins. The Peony Pavilion is inspired by the Ming dynasty playwright Tang Xianzu's work. The artwork depicts the historical meeting between Matteo Ricci and Tang Xianzu at the Ruins of St. Paul's.
