The 2026 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2026GMBPF) opened today (6 August), jointly organised by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao SAR and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, opened today (6 August) at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao. Under the theme “New Opportunities in the Silver Economy, A New Chapter in Healthy Living”, the Fair provides a practical and efficient exhibition and trade platform for business matching between Guangdong, Macao, and countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”. A total of 49 co-operation agreements were signed on-site on the opening day, covering a wide range of sectors, including big health, conventions and exhibitions, sports, food and beverage, and kitchen equipment, fully demonstrating the platform’s effectiveness in facilitating business connections.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Ng Wai Han, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government; Yang Quanzhou, Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Che Weng Keong, President of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of the Macao SAR; Zhang Yang, Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Division, Representative of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province; Cen Zhongjian, Vice Mayor of the Qingyuan Municipal People’s Government; and Zheng Weizhen, Deputy Mayor of the Yangjiang Municipal People’s Government. Consular representatives of Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand in Hong Kong also officiated at the ceremony.

Six themed exhibition zones bring together over 10,000 quality wellness products and global delicacies

The four-day Fair, running from 6 to 9 August, brings together 459 enterprises from Guangdong, Macao, and countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”. More than 10,000 quality products are on display and available for sale, alongside over 80 supporting activities. Covering a total area of nearly 13,000 square metres, the fair features six exhibition zones: the Guangdong Branded Products Zone, the Macao Featured Products Zone, the “Belt and Road” Products Zone, the Smart Senior Wellness Experience Pavilion, the Healthy Living Zone, and the New Gourmet Tasting Zone. Together, they provide industry participants and members of the public with a one-stop space for product showcases and interactive experiences.

17 years of platform development strengthen Guangdong–Macao co-operation and expand the “Belt and Road” network

In his address at the opening ceremony, IPIM President Che Weng Keong said that, after 17 years of development, the GMBPF has become not only a major economic and trade event under the Guangdong–Macao co-operation framework, but also a business co-operation platform connecting enterprises in Macao and Hengqin and across the Greater Bay Area with countries and regions along the Belt and Road. Over the years, the fair has continued to feature a dedicated “Belt and Road” Products Zone. Seizing the opportunity presented by the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Pakistan this year, the fair has invited Pakistani enterprises to participate for the first time, promoting halal food culture and further expanding its international network.

Forums and matching sessions on Trade Visitor Day help enterprises explore business opportunities

The opening day was designated the Trade Visitor Day, with several themed business matching sessions covering the Belt and Road, the silver economy, food, and the spices industry. These sessions connected enterprises with relevant upstream and downstream resources and helped them explore potential business opportunities. The afternoon programme included the Silver Finance Innovation and Development Forum, the Macao Smart Home-Based Elderly Care Development Forum, a briefing session on the “Scheme for Supporting the Development of Macao First-Store Economy”, and the Macao Ideas “Premium Goods” sales and promotion. Centred on the theme of the fair, these activities brought together industry expertise and continued to broaden the scope for co-operation across sectors such as global health, food and beverage, and retail.

The fair opens to the public tomorrow with diverse experiences and performances and over 100,000 gifts

The fair will open to the public tomorrow (7 August), offering a wide variety of free interactive experiences and cultural performances suitable for visitors of all ages. More than 100,000 gifts worth over MOP 2 million in total will be given away. A number of free shuttle bus routes will also be available, while visitors may use the car park at The Venetian Macao free of charge.
