The outbreak of the epidemic last year has had an impact on the local convention and exhibition industry. IPIM worked with the industry to face the difficulties and innovated the “online + offline” exhibition model, so that the exhibition was held smoothly as scheduled. Liu Weiming, Chairman of the Administration Committee of the International Trade Promotion Council, stated that the effectiveness of the new “two-line integration” model has exceeded the authorities’ expectations, and many exhibitors have received positive feedback. He believes that this model is a new trend for exhibitions in the future and will increase in the future. Intensive training and give full play to the role of the exhibition platform.

The three exhibitions, MIF, MFE and PLPEX hosted by the International Trade Council, were jointly held last year for the first time, and innovated the “two-line integration” way of organizing exhibitions. Liu Weiming said that the purpose of holding the exhibition is to provide a platform for exhibitors to communicate and facilitate negotiations between all parties. However, during the epidemic period, many merchants were unable to visit the scene in person, and negotiation opportunities were greatly reduced. In the end, the authorities decided to adopt a "two-line integration" approach, through offline exhibitions, online live broadcast, online exhibition halls, online promotion meetings, cloud matching, cloud signing, etc., to break through the boundaries of geography and space, and allow overseas merchants from many places. Even if you are unable to visit the site in person, you can participate through online channels.

In the three exhibitions last year, 1,196 companies participated in the online exhibition hall, with 4,472 products on display; there were 1,225 offline booths. During the exhibition, a total of 678 negotiations were arranged, among which 275 were China-Cloud matchmaking; 108 projects were signed, of which 13 were signed with the cloud, including Macau-made products and Macau-branded products entering specialty supermarkets, and Portuguese-speaking countries products entering local e-commerce companies. Platform etc.

Liu Weiming said that the addition of an online exhibition hall, expanded channels for promotion of exhibitors and merchants, increased opportunities for cooperation, and the results exceeded the bureau's expectations. During the period, many exhibitors responded enthusiastically, hoping to continue participating in the future. Now that the epidemic has changed the format of global exhibitions, online and offline methods can be matched in parallel to complement each other. An offline convention and exhibition event will further expand its reach by combining online promotion, so that exhibition businessmen in Australia can learn more about event arrangements and community consumption information in advance, and use the convention and exhibition industry to revitalize the social economy and promote consumption growth. Etc., benefiting more SMEs.
