This wooden puzzle music box is inspired by the Mandarin’s House, one of the 22 heritage buildings in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Centre of Macao. Spanning approximately 4,000 square metres, this complex consists of multiple residential buildings and gardens, with over 60 rooms, making it the largest and oldest traditional Chinese residence in Macao. It is the former residence of Zheng Guanying, a modern Chinese thinker, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Although primarily built in the Lingnan architectural style, the mansion reflects influences from foreign cultures. Under the trees, two colourful magpies face each other, symbolising 'joy on the brow'. The colourful sculptures on the gate depict seven goldfish swimming among longevity stones, symbolising 'wealth and prosperity' at the centre of the piece. The base features decorative patterns inspired by the mansion's wooden carvings and auspicious motifs. Number of pieces: 112; Material: Medium-density fiberboard; Music: "Laputa: Castle in the Sky".
