DecaSol adopts the Brewer’s Spent Grain (BSG), a byproduct of the beer brewing industry, as the plant fibre base of cat litter, offering a solution for the environmental problem created by the huge amount of solid residue of malted barley generated from the beer-brewing process. With exclusive formulas and patented technology, the cat litter made of BSG is not only highly absorbent, quick to clump, and effective in removing odour, but also can minimise the health risks associated with cats ingesting cat litter, consistently safeguarding their comfort and well-being.

The company was founded in 2021, based on the DecaSol Eco-friendly Brewer’s Spent Grain (BSG) Cat Litter Project supported by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), University of Macau. The three founders, core members of the project, are in charge of administration and finance, project operation, and marketing respectively.
The team has gained experience from years of entrepreneurship, won several national and provincial entrepreneurship prizes, and received support from some scientific research funds.
