The “2021 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2021MIECF) will be held from 5 to 7 August 2021 under the theme of “Towards a Green and Low Carbon New Era”. In light of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and the new normal, this year’s MIECF will introduce a “Green Mobility Zone” and incorporate more online elements to support enterprises in their exploration of green business opportunities.
The 2021MIECF is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, co-organised by provincial and regional governments in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, and co-ordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA), with the support of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China. It aims to promote international exchanges and co-operation on environmental protection among different sectors, including “governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users, and financial sectors”. The three-day event will take place at The Venetian Macao.
Online-Merge-Offline Model Enhanced
Since its certification by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011, MIECF has remained committed to promoting green development. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, it will incorporate a more diverse array of online elements such as online exhibitions, online matching services, and live broadcasts, serving as a platform to encourage exchanges and co-operation between environmental sectors from Mainland China, especially the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and their international counterparts.
Offline activities include the Green Forum, the Green Showcase, the Green Business Co-operation Day, Green Matching, the Green Public Day and networking activities. The Green Showcase will continue to offer a “Greenovation Zone” and introduce a “Green Mobility Zone” displaying eco-friendly alternative fuel vehicles together with associated equipment and technologies, to contribute to the 14th Five-Year Plan and achieve the goals of “peak carbon dioxide emissions” and “carbon neutrality”. Exhibitions and exchanges relevant to green innovation technologies will all be available, in an effort to facilitate the application of innovative environmental protection technologies and related exchanges. The three-day event will provide enterprises with business matching services and opportunities for exchanges through the “Online Business Matching Service Platform” (http://bm.ipim.gov.mo) and on-site industry networking activities. Industry participants are all welcome.
